​Department of Finance and Accounting


The Department of Finance and Accounting offers the Diploma of Accountancy, Diploma in Business Studies and Diploma in Finance programmes.

 ​

The courses offered are being specifically structured to equip students with a strong foundation in Basic Accounting, Basic Business Administration, Basic Finance as well as other related courses before they embark on the Bachelor of Accounting (Hons), Bachelor in Business Administration programmes such as BBA (Hons) in Human Resource Management and the Bachelor of Finance (Hons) programme.

 

The quality of these programmes are distinct with the recognition of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA), the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) and accounting professional bodies including the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). Our staff are involved in research that covers a wide area of accounting ranging from the traditional financial accounting, management accounting and taxation to more contemporary issues leading to corporate governance, forensic accounting, corporate social responsibility accounting and Islamic accounting. This would ensure that our staff keeps abreast with the current developments in accounting which in turn would also bring the necessary exposure to students.
