ICARET 2010 > Introduction

Introduction

Copenhagen did not see a binding agreement among the World’s largest emitters of Green House Gases, yet we witnessed the Prime Minister of a small developing economy commit his nation to a 40 % reduction in carbon emissions by 2020. Renewable Energy is seen as the biggest contributor to this proposed reduction.

Rising to the Prime Minister’s challenge, the Centre for Renewable Energy (CRE) of University Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN), Malaysia, is organizing the International Conference on Advances In Renewable Energy Technologies (ICARET) to provide a platform for researchers, industries and other stakeholders to explore the possibilities of new advancements in Renewable Energy Technologies.

This conference is supported by Tenaga Nasional Berhad and its subsidiary Tenaga Nasional Research Sdn Bhd. An exhibition on renewable energy will also be held at the conference site which will encompass relevant institutions and industry players.
