The Centre for Fluid Dynamics UNITEN, (formally known as the Centre for Advanced Computational Engineering) was established in the year of 2008 with the aim to enhance the research and development activities in thermal and fluid dynamics-related areas.

The centre consists of experts in the field of thermal and fluids engineering in UNITEN and is well regarded at national level especially in the area of Computational Fluid Dynamics.

The research areas involved experimental and numerical analysis on wide range of applications in the thermal and fluid mechanics. In particular, the centre focuses on energy-related field that includes power generation, plant equipment, heat transfer enhancement using nanofluids, CFD software development, automotive, environmental and etc. Current activities include both the fundamental and applied research on thermal and fluid engineering-related fields.

The works carried out by the members are mainly funded and supported by the government and private agencies such as the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, Ministry of Energy, Green Technology and Water and Tenaga Nasional Berhad.
