The Centre for Power System Simulation conducts research and development on technology, operations and the environment for the electric power sector. It addresses challenges in electrical energy delivery and use, including health, safety and the environment and supports research in emerging technologies.

The emphasis of the research centre is in the development and use of power system simulation tools, in applied research and engineering services in various studies such as harmonic analysis, power quality, transients studies, fault analysis, dynamic simulation, network protection, supply security, economy, health and safety, to name but a few.

The centre strives to strengthen its capacity and seeks to foster strategic partnerships, collaborating with leading researchers and industry associations to be a leader in electrical power research and applied knowledge to serve the future needs of the electric power industry.
