Organisational Structure & Operational Role


Professor Ir. Dr. Tuan Ab Rashid bin Tuan Abdullah has served the Nasional Energy University (UNITEN) and Tenaga Nasional Berhad for 12 years and 20 years respectively. His industrial experience as engineer include network planning, construction, maintenance, system automation development, communication, system control and technical examiner at the TNB training institute. His electricity business experience include business data mining on electricity consumption, electricity supply performance management, development of electricity billing system generation 2, electricity tariff formulation and the first field trial of two-way smart meter in TNB. His academic and research positions include Deputy Dean, Laboratory Manager, University's representative for IP Protection at MyIPO, Director of UNITEN Consulting Unit and currently, he is the Director of the Institute of Energy Policy & Research (IEPRe). He is also a member of UNITEN Smart UniverCity Committee working on campus wide technology-based smart energy community, efficient building and comfortable living.

Abul Quasem AL-AMIN, PhD in Environmental Economics, is a Professor at Institute of Energy Policy and Research (IEPRe), Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN), Malaysia. His expertise is in environmental policy analysis by Applied General Equilibrium Model (ACGE) and has published more than 80 international publications including several books using environment and economic concepts. His research primarily includes on technological innovation for green economy and policy for economic development and sustainability. In the last 12 years, he was associated with research on development and environment in policy modelling using ACGE approach and optimization tools. Beside these, his research interest includes on modelling international trade & environment, macroeconomic stability for climate change issues, ecological economics, optimal pollution taxation and developing regional climate change related database. He is attached with environmental studies in HAW Germany, Ministry of Environment, Green Growth, South Korea, Publishing co-editor in Springer, Deputy Editor for 2 journals in Inderscience (in environment and ecology), Associate Editor for 2 journals in Emerald (in climate change). He was attached also with United Nations (UNDESA) USA as consultant for the project of Low Carbon Economy and Green Growth in the Asia pacific regions in 2011.

Siti Indati Mustapa is currently the Head of Energy Security at the Institute of Energy Policy and Research, UNITEN and Senior Lecturer at Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN). She holds a Master Degree in Computer Science from University Putra Malaysia and Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from University Putra Malaysia. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Business Management specializing in Energy & Environment studies at UNITEN.  Besides teaching undergraduate students at UNITEN, she has vast industry experience with Malaysia Energy Centre spanning more than 10 years within the realm of energy and policy research, energy modeling and data management. She is actively involved in research & consultancy projects for industry and government agencies and had published numerous papers internationally and made presentations in both local and international forums.
