9 FEBRUARY 2023 - Themed "Sustainability of Professional Huffaz Towards IR 5.0", Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) in collaboration with the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM) and the Federal Territory Islamic Religious Council (MAIWP) has successfully organized the International Conference on Professional Huffaz (InFAZ) 2023 on 9 February 2023 at UNITEN, Putrajaya Campus.

InFAZ2023 discusses the current issue of tahfiz education and its solutions in an effort to produce huffaz that has gained knowledge and services in various fields.

The Vice-Chancellor of UNITEN, Professor Ir Dr Noor Azuan Abu Osman, said the programme involved policy-making and implementing agencies, tahfiz institutions, lecturers, students, tahfiz associations and individuals. He said, InFAZ2023 can leverage this scientific discussion platform towards promoting and empowering tahfiz education in Malaysia.

"The UNITEN Professional Huffaz Programme has successfully produced 294 huffaz graduates within a decade. Alhamdullilah, a graduate of UNITEN Professional Huffaz is now all over the world in their respective career fields. The excellence of UNITEN's Professional Huffaz Program also attracted the attention of other institutions to make UNITEN a benchmark in the implementation of Tahfiz studies.

"It is an integrated programme that combines tahfiz programmes and academic programmes such as Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Accounting and Business Administration," he said.

The Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Senator Dato' Setia Dr. Haji Mohd Na'im bin Haji Mokhtar, said the shift in thinking should be applied by the Muslim community towards achieving the goal of producing the professional huffaz generation.

"We also need to be proactive on the current issues of tahfiz education in order to continue to strengthen the development and marketability of huffaz more efficiently and comprehensively.

"This effort is in line with the national agenda of developing Malaysia Madani which is designed to effectively shape the governance and governance of the country, emphasising on economic and cultural empowerment based on values, ethics and morals, driving the Madani society to achieve well-being and happiness," he said in his speech at the opening ceremony of the conference.

The participation of 1,000 Quran memorizers throughout Malaysia from various public and private tahfiz institutions and universities who collaborated in tahfiz certification with Darul Quran as well as individuals from Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei and Indonesia.

In this conference was launched the book "A decade of UNITEN Professional Huffaz" and Professional Huffaz Icons. The selection of the Professional Huffaz Icon was chosen among the Higher Education Institutions (IPT) which collaborates with Darul Quran JAKIM based on academic excellence and contribution and involvement in various co-curricular and community activities.

The Professional Huffaz icon was given to Muhammad Zulfadhli bin Shahiran's brother who is a UNITEN graduate. He has obtained CGPA 3.91 results for Basic Engineering Studies, CGPA 3.79 for Bachelor of Electrical Power Engineering, CGPA 3.96 for Tahfiz al-Quran JAKIM-UNITEN Certification and CGPA 3.96 for Tahfiz Corporate Management Diploma Programme. Currently, he works as a Consulting Sales Manager at Acson Malaysia Sales & Services.

Also present at the ceremony was JAKIM Deputy Director General (Operations), Tuan Haji Ruslan Said; The Chief Human Officer of TNB, Tuan Haji Wahizan Abd Rahman, and Director of Darul Quran JAKIM, Tuan Haji Mohd Ansarullah Mohd Hashim.
