UNITEN, ITPLN SEAL MoU EDUCATION

26 JANUARY 2023 - Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) collaborated with the National Institute of Electricity Company Technology (ITPLN) from Indonesia in the field of education and investigations through a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed in Bali on January 18.

The MoU was signed by the Vice-Chancellor of UNITEN, Professor Ir. Dr Noor Azuan Abu Osman with the Rector of ITPLN, Dr Iwa Garniwa M K, MT and witnessed by the Chairman of the Government-Linked University (GLU) Malaysia, Professor Dato' Dr Mazliham Mohd Su'ud.

Majlis sealed that the MoU was held in conjunction with the Supreme Management Committee of the Malaysian Government-Linked Universities (GLU) and the Indonesian State-Owned Enterprises Higher Education Alliance (APERTI BUMN).

The MoU also provides an opportunity for students in both countries to get the best education. Through this collaboration, UNITEN-IPTLN will collaborate in student and staff mobility programmes.

In addition, academic programs include dual offering of diplomas, cooperation in investigations - matching and joint publishing, advocacy of international trials, exercises, and other areas that can benefit both parties.

The MoU was carried out on the continuity of the meeting of the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim with the President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo at the State Palace, Bogor, Indonesia.

UNITEN is the education branch of Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) and ITPLN the education branch of the Indonesian State Electricity Company (PLN) responded well to the call of the leaders of the two countries by establishing cooperation in higher education and investigation.

It is hoped that this collaboration will drive the synergies of institutions and groups in turn to produce knowledge studies that can contribute to the global society and the production of dynamic and progressive quality human capital for both countries, Malaysia and Indonesia.
