UNITEN, UMP PLAN STRATEGIC COOPERATION

9 JANUARY 2023 - The courtesy visit of the top management of University Malaysia Pahang (UMP) to University Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN), today, is expected to strengthen the strategic cooperation between the two parties.

Vice-Chancellor of UNITEN, Professor Ir. Dr Noor Azuan Abu Osman said the collaboration will focus on digital development, teaching and learning, research, student and staff mobility and other areas that can benefit both institutions.

"We look at the expertise of these two institutions in forging collaborations and joint ventures and we will use that advantage to provide mutual benefit and human capital development of the country," he said.

Earlier, a courtesy visit from UMP was led by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato' Ts. Dr Yuserrie Zainuddin; Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), Professor Ts. Dr Kamal Zuhairi Zamli; Assistant Vice-Chancellor of Technical and Vocational Education (TVET), Professor Dr Abdullah Ibrahim and top management of the university.

Among others discussed were the collaboration of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programs, financial sustainability, research excellence, and many others.

Also present was the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and Research) of UNITEN, Professor Dato' Ts. Dr Mohd Zamri Yusoff; Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student and Alumni Affairs), Associate Professor Dr Abdul Aziz Mat Isa; Chief Operating Officer, Associate Professor Ts. Dr Mohd Ezanee Rusli and the university's management congregation.

During the visit, the UMP delegation also visited UNITEN Customer Centre (UCC) to see the 'one stop centre' services and facilities provided to students and customers.

In addition, delegates were also taken to visit around campus and ride electric bass. At the end of the visit, delegates were briefed on uniten's high-impact investigations at The Energy Sphere (TES).

UNITEN welcomes the presence of UMP delegates and hopefully today's meeting will not stop here but will instead continue by exploring collaboration opportunities in suitable areas in the future.
