Student who has completed Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM), A-Level, Matriculation, Foundation, Diploma, UEC, International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB), HND(UK) Diploma, SAME/WACE/AUSMAT or other equivalent qualifications recognised by Government of Malaysia. Keen interest in Economics and Management field of study. May complete education at Bachelor level to become professional or entrepreneurs, or may pursue in related Postgraduate programmes.

Foundation in Economics and Management is specifically designed to prepare a student with basic knowledge related to economics and management. This programme gives students a good understanding and strong preparation for them before furthering their studies to a higher level in economics and management or other fields of their interest.

Through this programme, students will be able to explain concepts, theories, and principles in social sciences, source and process data using appropriate digital/technology applications analyse and apply information to solve problems and develop their skills for lifelong learning and communication in responsible ways.

50 credit hours of subjects are being taught in three semesters. This Foundation Economics and Management programme can be completed in 1 year.

Students successfully completed their Foundation in Economics and Management programme are expected to pursuit their study in Bachelor of Bachelor of Economics (Energy) (Hons) and Bachelor of Business Economics (Hons) programmes.

Tuition Fees: RM15,000 per programme.
Other Fees:

  • Full Registration + Miscellaneous Fee: RM1,200 one-time payment
  • Medical Insurance: RM200
  • Resource Fee (Library, Student Activity & Service): RM1,500
  • Deposit for Accommodation: RM250 one-time deposit payment
  • Monthly Fee for Accommodation: Starting from RM270/month.


Fees for International Students:
Tuition Fees: USD 4,500  (RM 18,000) per programme.
Other Fees:

  • VISA & Application Fee: USD787.50 (RM3,150) one-time payment
  • Full Registration + Miscellaneous Fee: USD2,050 (RM8,200) one-time payment
  • Medical Insurance: USD37.50 (RM150)/year
  • Resource Fee (Library, Student Activity & Service): USD375 (RM1,500)
  • Deposit for Accommodation: USD62.50 (RM250) one-time deposit payment
  • Monthly Fee for Accommodation: Starting from USD67.50 (RM270)/month.

and if the international student (for Bachelor) does not fulfill the English language requirement such as minimum score for IELTS or TOEFL, there will be additional fees of:

  • Intensive English Programme (IEP) : USD1,400 (RM5,600)/semester.

Flexible payment options are available, where student may:

  • pay full in advance, or
  • by monthly installments, or
  • pay full 2 weeks before the semester's final examination.

+ ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

For Malaysian Students:

  • SPM (Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia)
    Pass SPM or equivalent with minimum credits (grade C) in 5 subjects and pass (grade  E) in Mathematics.
  • O-Level
    Pass O-Level from an institution recognised by the Government of Malaysia with a minimum credit (grade C) in 5 subjects
  • IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education)
    Pass IGCSE from an institution recognised by the Government of Malaysia with a minimum credit (grade C) in 5 subjects inclusive Bahasa Inggeris, Mathematics, Physics or Add Maths and Pass in Chemistry (min. grade E).
  • UEC (Unified Examination Certificate)
    Pass UEC with a minimum of grade B in 4 subjects.
  • Others
    Other equivalent qualifications recognised by the Government of Malaysia.

No additional English requirement for this programme.


For International Students:

International students are required to have one of the English proficiency scores stated below to enrol in UNITEN. Foundation students who do not fulfill this English requirement are required to sit for the Test of English Proficiency (TEP) before they could enroll in the English Short Course (ESC).
