Institute of Power Engineering (IPE) was first established in April 2005, previously known as Power Engineering Centre (PEC), as part of Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) initiatives to spearhead research and consultancy activities in the field of power engineering widely considered as niche to UNITEN. IPE aspires to be the point of reference for education, research, and development in the field of Power Engineering in Malaysia.
IPE’s vision is to be a premier research institute to provide world class research, consultancy, and training services in power engineering. Our mission is to undertake research, consultancy, and development activities in various aspects of power engineering industries.
The institute draws its multidisciplinary expertise from academicians and researchers from various colleges within UNITEN and TNB Research, as well as practicing engineers and technologists from its parent electric utility group, TNB.
