UNIVERSITI TENAGA NASIONAL, HADHRAMOUT UNIVERSITY OF YEMEN SEALS MoU IN HIGHER EDUCATION AND RESEARCH

PUTRAJAYA, 8 Jun 2023 – Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) and Hadhramout University of Yemen announced today the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish and maintain a strong and collaborative relationship between the two esteemed institutions. The MOU aims to facilitate the exchange of expertise, experience, and skills for mutual benefit and growth, while exploring opportunities for cooperation in various areas of interest.

Through the MoU, the two universities will cooperate in student and staff mobility programs, academic programs including pathways for advanced entry into programmes, professional program development, edu-tourism programs, research activities, and academic publications.

Vice Chancellor of UNITEN, Prof. Ir. Dr. Noor Azuan, expressed UNITEN's commitment to sharing its expertise with Hadhramout University, Yemen. As an energy-focused university, UNITEN aims to foster collaboration and mutual benefit by offering academic programs such as symposiums, conferences, and short-term courses that can enhance the knowledge and skills of both institutions. This exchange of expertise will contribute to the advancement of education and research in the energy sector, benefitting students and faculty members from both UNITEN and Hadhramout University.

Prof. Ir. Dr. Noor Azuan further emphasized the significance of the MOU in elevating UNITEN's global visibility, particularly in Middle East countries. He expressed his optimism that this partnership would serve as a catalyst for UNITEN's internationalization efforts, solidifying its position as a leading energy-focused university worldwide. "This collaboration demonstrates the recognition of UNITEN's academic curriculum on the international stage," he added.

The MoU was signed by Vice Chancellor of UNITEN, Prof. Ir. Dr. Noor Azuan Abu Osman with the President of Hadhramout University, Prof. Dr. Mahammad Saeed Khanbash at the UNITEN Putrajaya campus.
