UNITEN Thunder is the official varsity team representing Universiti Tenaga Nasional in inter-university and national sporting competitions. Made up of talented and dedicated student-athletes, the team reflects UNITEN’s commitment to excellence both on and off the field through structured training and guidance from experienced coaches.
Participating in major championships and competitive events, UNITEN Thunder proudly carries the university’s name while promoting discipline, teamwork, sportsmanship, and perseverance, shaping well-rounded individuals who bring pride and recognition to UNITEN.

Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) serves as a strategic Pusat Kecemerlangan Sukan (PKS) under the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE), dedicated to the advancement of hockey with a primary focus on the women’s division.
Our mission involves identifying promising young talent at the school level and providing a structured development pathway to nurture these athletes for national representation. Through this initiative, UNITEN continues to foster athletic excellence and contribute to the long-term success of Malaysian hockey on the global stage.
