APPLICATION PROCESS

● Interested applicants are required to register and apply for MTCP Scholarship through the system.

● The system utilised for registration shall also be used for the entire application and selection procedure. Applicants may be required to log in to the system at different stages of the process to obtain updates on the status of their application or to provide supplementary documents. 

Note: Only applications that have been submitted into the system will be considered. 

Applications that are found to contain inaccurate or falsified information may be subject to disqualification. 

MALAYSIAN TECHNICAL COOPERATION PROGRAMME (MTCP)

The MTCP Scholarship is sponsored by the Malaysian Government and dedicated to international students from developing countries to pursue their postgraduate studies in Malaysia, whilst at the same time acquire the necessary knowledge and skills that could contribute to the development of their country. The duration of the award is between 24 to 36 months for Master's Degree Programme covering any mode of study (Coursework, Mixed Mode and Research).

GENERAL INFO ON THE MTCP SCHOLARSHIP

● The application for the Scholarship is open from 4 May 2026 until 12 June 2026. 
● Interested applicants may apply for the MTCP Scholarship through the MTCP website. 
● This scholarship is open for full-time Master’s Degree only for the September/October intake, academic year of 2026/2027. 
● The Scholarship is offered to outstanding graduates from the MTCP recipient countries as listed in the MTCP Scholarship website.

AREAS OF STUDY

Priority will be given to the following areas of study:

i. Information and Communication Technology
ii. Economy and Trade; 
iii. Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM); 
iv. Food Security and Agriculture Technology; 
v. Islamic Finance; 
vi. Law; 
vii. Public Administration and Policy Studies; and 
viii. Sustainable and Environmental Science.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

Applications will be considered according to the following selection criteria:

i. High-level academic and extra-curricular achievement;  
ii. Excellent proficiency in English (communication, writing and reading); and 
iii. Demonstrated preparation for the chosen programme of study.
