Iftar Perdana UNITEN - UNITEN Reaffirms Commitment to Asnaf
4 March 2026
UNITEN Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ir. Dr. Khairul Salleh Mohamed Sahari, highlighted that the university’s recognition as a preferred higher education panel for LZS underscores its ability to provide quality education, particularly in the energy industry. He noted that these funds do more than provide financial relief, they help develop professional Muslims who embody high Islamic values and serve as empowered human capital for the nation.
As of December 2025, 510 asnaf students were registered under TAZW, including 44 students currently supported by the LZS Higher Education Scholarship Assistance. Prof. Khairul further highlighted the profound impact of UNITEN’s Huffaz Professional programme, a flagship initiative that successfully integrates rigorous technical training with spiritual excellence. He noted that the programme continues to produce a new generation of technocrats who are also huffaz, embodying the university’s mission to cultivate holistic talent. This pursuit of excellence was recently exemplified on the state stage, where UNITEN students secured prestigious third-place finishes in the 2026 Quranic Recitation and Memorisation competitions in both Perak and Selangor.
The event was graced by the presence of TNB Chairman, Tan Sri Abdul Razak Abdul Majid, and Tan Sri Dr. Ir. Ahmad Tajuddin Ali, a member of the Board of Directors and Pro-Chancellor of UNITEN. During the ceremony, the university presented Hari Raya contributions to 299 asnaf recipients, celebrating the upcoming arrival of Syawal by reaffirming its dedication to social welfare and community support.
