UniReady 2026: A Gateway to Holistic Excellence and Leadership

11 February 2026 - UniReady 2026 is not merely an academic preparatory platform but an important exposure ground for young people to step into university life with greater confidence and maturity, said Bandar Tun Razak Member of Parliament Datuk Seri Dr. Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.

Dr. Wan Azizah, who is the wife of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, said the initiative by Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) reflects the institution’s commitment not only to academic excellence but also to expanding access to education for the younger generation.
She said life experience plays a crucial role in shaping personal strength beyond the knowledge gained in lecture halls.

“Experience is important. Life is built on knowledge, but it is experience that teaches us how to face life’s challenges,” she said. 

Also present were Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) chairman Tan Sri Abdul Razak Abdul Majid and UNITEN vice-chancellor Prof Ir Dr Khairul Salleh Mohamed Sahari.

Meanwhile, UNITEN vice-chancellor Professor Ir. Dr. Khairul Salleh Mohamed Sahari said UniReady 2026 is more than an academic camp, describing it as a holistic development platform that emphasises leadership building, communication skills, character development and exposure to campus life.

“This approach is in line with UNITEN’s aspiration to produce graduates who excel academically and are ready to assume leadership roles in the future,” he said.

10 October 2025 - Prof. Khairul added that this year’s programme differs from previous editions as it integrates micro-credentials as a core component, introducing a more dynamic, industry-focused modular learning approach aligned with future skills requirements.

UniReady 2026 is implemented through a strategic collaboration between UNITEN, Yayasan Gerbang Bandar Tun Razak and the Education Bureau of the Federal Territories State Leadership Council, with support from TNB, involving 250 participants.
