UNITEN recognises your professional and life experiences through APEL for Credit Award (APEL.C), giving you the opportunity to complete your studies faster and at a reduced cost.

🔎 What is APEL.C?

APEL for Credit Award (APEL.C) is an assessment process that allows you to earn academic credits for specific courses in a programme by assessing your relevant prior experiential learning either through non-formal or/and informal. This includes knowledge, skills, and competencies gained from work, training, or personal development.

💡 Why APEL.C?

• Recognises real-world learning — regardless of where or how it was gained

• Helps avoid learning duplication

• Reduces your study duration and cost

• Promotes lifelong learning

📚 How Does It Work?

To apply for APEL.C:

1. You must already be a registered student at UNITEN.

2. Meet with an APEL Advisor to evaluate your prior learning.

3. Submit self-assessment form

4. Assessment is conducted by subject matter experts.

5. Credits are awarded if you achieve at least 50% of each course learning outcome.

6. Approved credits will be recorded as CT(APEL) in your transcript but it is not counted in your CGPA.
