Master of Science in Management (By Research)
This programme is a research-based degree designed for candidates who wish to deepen their understanding of management and organisational studies. It emphasises independent research, critical thinking, and analytical skills in areas such as strategy, leadership, operations, and organisational behaviour, preparing graduates for careers in research, academia, consultancy, and advanced management roles across various industries.

About Programme

Master of Science in Management (By Research) programs provide training and experience in management research in order to familiarize the candidates with the methods, ideal and objectives of independent investigation.

Candidates will be engaged in a significant research investigation of a specific inquiry resulting in the production of a thesis.

Program Structure:
The program can be completed within 2-3 years for full-time candidates and 3-4 years for part-time candidates.  Candidates who enroll in this program are required to register for the following courses:

  1. MRPM634 Research Project
  2. MGTM512 Research Methodology Seminar

  • A Bachelor’s degree in related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.75 as accepted by UNITEN Senate; OR

  • A Bachelor’s degree in related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 and not meeting a CGPA of 2.75 can be accepted, subject to rigorous internal assessment; OR

  • A Bachelor’s degree in related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and not meeting a CGPA of 2.50 can be accepted, subject to a minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience and rigorous internal assessment;  OR

  • A Bachelor’s degree in non-related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 as accepted by UNITEN Senate, subject to having relevant working experience and rigorous internal assessment; OR

  • A Bachelor’s degree in non-related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and not meeting 2.5 as accepted by UNITEN Senate, subject to a minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience and rigorous internal assessment; OR

  • A Bachelor’s degree in non-related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 as accepted by UNITEN Senate and without relevant working experience, subject to passing pre-requisite courses; OR

  • Other qualifications equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree recognised by the Malaysian Government.
  • International students are required to fulfill one of the English proficiency score stated below to enroll at UNITEN. Postgraduate students who do not fulfill this English requirement are required to sit for Intensive English Programme (IEP) and pass the requirement below before starting their postgraduate requirement.
      1. Malaysia University English Test (MUET) – achieved Band 4 and above
      2. IELTS - achieved 6.0 and above
      3. TOEFL (Internet-based Test)  – achieved 8.5 and above
