APEL Portfolio Reviewer Training

 
APEL stands for Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning. Candidates who sit for the APEL assessment will need to submit their portfolio. Portfolio reviewers will assess the portfolios submitted by APEL candidates. Hence, this workshop aims to train APEL reviewers in the knowledge and skills to assess portfolios submitted by APEL candidates according to MQA guidelines. The training covers a brief introduction to the overall APEL assessment, portfolio review, types of learning, the component of the portfolio, hands-on assessment, and presentation.

Synopsis

Course Outcomes

i. Explain the objective of portfolio assessment based on the MQF 2.0 learning outcomes.

ii. Differentiate between the three types of learning: formal, non-formal, and informal.

ii. Assess a portfolio according to five clusters of competencies (learning outcomes) in MQF 2.0.

Target Participants

Higher education institution (HEI) that wants to train their SME and Moderator to review APEL portfolio.
