UNITEN Strengthens Strategic Framework Research with TNBR

22 April 2026 - Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) has further reinforced its strategic partnership with TNB Research Sdn Bhd (TNBR) through a new collaboration framework. The agreement was officially signed on 22 April 2026 at the National Energy Centre (NEC), UNITEN.
This strategic framework marks a significant advancement in the collaboration concerning future grid systems and energy transition technologies, reflecting both organisations' shared commitment to sustainable innovation and national development within the energy sector.
The partnership focuses on key areas, including:
✅ Joint research initiatives, knowledge sharing, and the active involvement of researchers from both institutions
✅ A strong emphasis on postgraduate development, specifically through the joint supervision of Master’s and PhD projects, collaborative publications, and the shared utilisation of research facilities
The agreement was signed on behalf of UNITEN by its Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ir. Dr. Khairul Salleh Mohamed Sahari, in the presence of Professor Ir. Dr. Vigna Kumaran a/l Ramachandaramurthy, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research & Innovation). Representing TNB Research Sdn. Bhd. was its Managing Director, Dato’ Ts. Dr. Mohd Zamri Yusoff, with the signing witnessed by Ir. Dr. Sheikh Kamar Sheikh Abdullah, Research Director (Power Delivery & Innovation Research).
