About Programme

This programme is designed to equip students with a strong dual focus on core computer science and artificial intelligence. It aligns with industry needs and professional standards, offering a curriculum that incorporates relevant certifications to ensure graduates are career-ready. Emphasis is placed on hands-on learning, teamwork, simulations, and real-world problem solving to build both technical and soft skills essential for success in the AI field.

Delivered by the Department of Computing at UNITEN’s College of Computing and Informatics, the programme covers fundamental areas such as software development, data structures, computer systems, and programming. It is further enhanced with specialised modules in Artificial Intelligence, including machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision, generative AI, and data analytics.

Students gain both theoretical knowledge and practical skills through project-based learning and hands-on laboratory work. Strong emphasis is placed on ethical and responsible AI practices, integrating key elements of governance, fairness, transparency, and accountability throughout the programme to ensure graduates can develop and deploy intelligent systems responsibly.

The programme also provides valuable industry exposure through internships and industrial training, supported by strong collaborations with leading technology companies. Students further benefit from UNITEN’s strategic link with Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), gaining practical insight into the application of AI in energy, sustainability, and smart technologies—fields of growing global importance.

A seamless academic pathway is available for students wishing to pursue postgraduate studies through credit transfer into UNITEN’s Master in Artificial Intelligence or Master in Data Science programmes, offering a flexible and structured progression route.
