ICSEIE-CT 2026 Brings Global Experts Together to Advance Sustainable Energy and Clean Technology

11 to 14 August 2026 - Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN), in collaboration with the Korean Society of Clean Technology (KSCT), successfully organised the 2nd International Conference on Sustainable Energy, Infrastructure and Environment – Clean Technology (ICSEIE-CT 2026) from 11 to 14 August 2026 at the JW Marriott Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.

Held under the theme “Harnessing Innovation: Clean Technology Pathways towards Sustainable Energy and Environment,” the conference attracted more than 300 researchers, academics, industry professionals and policymakers, with international delegates comprising approximately one-third of the participants.

The conference was officially inaugurated by YBhg. Tan Sri Abdul Razak Abdul Majid, Chairman of Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB). In his welcoming address, UNITEN Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ir. Dr. Khairul Salleh Mohamed Sahari emphasised the importance of transforming research into practical solutions through knowledge sharing and strategic partnerships. The conference was chaired by Prof. Byong-Hun Jeon of KSCT and Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr. Hasril Hasini, Director of the Institute of Sustainable Energy, UNITEN.

Keynote addresses were delivered by Dato’ Ir. Muhamad Nazri Pazil of TNB and Mr. Woo Hyun Lee, Chairman of OCI Holdings, Republic of Korea. The conference also featured forums and plenary sessions involving distinguished speakers from Malaysia, South Korea and Australia. Discussions covered hydrogen production, renewable energy, energy storage, sustainable aviation fuels, carbon utilisation, lithium recovery, biogas and sustainable wastewater treatment.

Among the highlights were 52 research posters and the presentation of awards to outstanding researchers. Reneesha Valiyaveettil Basheer received the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) Best Presenter Award, while Yeongwon Kwak, Yejin Jang and Chang-Ho Choi received the IET Best Poster Award.

The programme concluded with technical visits to the Cenergi West 1.5 MW Biogas Power Plant at Pulau Carey and the 13.0 MWp Wawasan Dengkil Floating Solar Photovoltaic Plant, providing participants with valuable exposure to real-world renewable energy applications.

UNITEN extends its appreciation to all co-organisers, speakers, delegates, sponsors, supporting partners and volunteers whose contributions made ICSEIE-CT 2026 a success. The conference further strengthened UNITEN’s role in connecting academia, industry and international partners to advance sustainable energy and clean technology solutions.
