Diploma in Computer Science
This programme provides students with foundational knowledge and practical skills in computing, programming, and software development, preparing them for careers in IT or further studies in computer science.

About Programme

The Department of Foundation and Diploma Studies (CCI-FDS) offers Diploma in Computer Science (DCS), Foundation in Computer Science (FCS), and Foundation in Information Technology (FIT) programmes. The department is equipped with sufficient computer laboratories. Students have access to well-equipped computer laboratories

The Diploma in Computer Science prepares students for careers in the technology industry or further studies at the degree level. The curriculum covers key subjects such as Data Communication and Computer Networks, Statistics for Computer Science, UX Design, and Fundamentals of Data Science. Students also complete a Final Year Project under lecturer supervision and gain practical experience through the Industrial Training programme.

A total of 90 credit hours are delivered over seven semesters. This Diploma in Computer Science programme can be completed within 2½ years.

Entry Requirements

SPM / O-Level / GCE / GCSE / IGCSE

Pass SPM/ OLEVEL with a minimum 3 credits(Grade C) including :

Pass with minimum 4 Grade B6 (including a pass in Advanced Mathematics)

STAM

Pass STAM with a minimum of Grade MAQBUL and grade C in Mathematics SPM

STPM

Pass STPM with a minimum Grade C(CGPA 2.00) in 1 subject

Mathematics(Grade C) in SPM

Certificate

Pass Certificate Level 3 (MQF) in related field at least a CGPA of 2.00

Sijil Kemahiran MARA/ Community College

Pass SKM/ Community college Level 3 in related field

📝 Note :

Candidates with a pass (Grade D & E) in Mathematics at the SPM level must register for Reinforcement Mathematics (RM) in their first semester and achieve at least a PASS within TWO (2) attempts to be eligible to progress in the programme
