Message from Head of Department
Ir. Ts. Dr. Tan Ee Sann
Welcome to the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
The Department of Mechanical Engineering is committed to nurturing capable, creative, and adaptable engineers who are prepared to meet the evolving needs of industry and society. Mechanical engineering plays an important role in the development of technologies that shape our everyday lives, from machines and manufacturing systems to energy, automation, and emerging technologies.
At the department, we provide a supportive and engaging learning environment where students are encouraged to develop strong engineering fundamentals, practical skills, and effective problem-solving abilities. Through education, hands-on learning, research, and industry engagement, we aim to inspire students to explore ideas, embrace innovation, and apply their knowledge to real-world challenges.
We look forward to supporting you throughout your engineering journey and helping you develop the knowledge, confidence, and professional values needed to contribute meaningfully to the engineering profession and society.
