5 June 2026

Tenaga Nasional Berhad’s (TNB) flagship event, the Energy Transition Conference 2026 (ETCon26), went through with strong momentum. The three-day conference brought together over 4,000 delegates, including policymakers, industry leaders, investors, and technology players, to accelerate Malaysia’s energy transition agenda amid the rapid rise of artificial intelligence (AI) and digital infrastructure demand.

Held from 3 to 5 June 2026 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC), the second edition of ETCon was officially opened by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation, Datuk Amar Fadillah Yusof.

The conference featured a robust line-up of over 80 speakers and 40 strategic partners from Malaysia and around the globe, representing the energy, technology, finance, and public policy sectors.

Centred on the theme "Energy & AI: The Synergy for Energy Transition," ETCon26 is anchored on three content pillars: Energy for AI, AI for Energy, and Energy Transition for People.

Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) was directly involved in shaping the conference's core discussions. Among the key highlighted was a high-level dialogue at the Plenary Hall titled "Shaping an AI-Ready Generation: The Role of Today's Leaders," featured UNITEN Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ir. Dr. Khairul Salleh Mohamed Sahari, as a speaker.

Empowering the next generation of energy leaders, the final day of the conference, Friday (5 June) were featured dedicated session titled "Leading from the Grid Edge: The ET Generation Speaks," driven entirely by UNITEN students to share youth perspectives on the energy evolution.
