Signature Projects
IICE’s signature projects demonstrate its capability in applying artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data analytics, the Internet of Things and digital governance to challenges in energy, education, public infrastructure and smart environments.
IICE’s Web Application Security Assessment work supports secure digital systems, threat assessment and technology risk management. The institute also contributes to the Sistem Alamat Nasional/Negara through the Malaysia Landscape Assessment Report and Stakeholder Engagement and Adoption Plan. Other initiatives include the development of an On-Board Governance Module for subsidiary business governance software.
The AI-Driven Asset Management System applies artificial intelligence to defect-repair prioritisation and operational decision-making. IICE also develops AI-based planned preventive maintenance systems to strengthen asset monitoring, maintenance planning and operational efficiency.
AI-SOLAR applies artificial intelligence to real-time solar monitoring and anomaly detection. Related projects include cost-effective IoT solutions for improving energy efficiency in medium-sized and large buildings, and the development of privacy-risk metrics based on connected-device privacy levels in smart buildings.
IICE is developing artificial intelligence applications for the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) module of the Sustainability Management Department’s (SMD) Software for Investment Automation (SOFIA) Dashboard and advancing responsible AI practices for a secure and trustworthy energy transition. Its work also includes AI-based prediction of green talent skills and a framework for integrating Generative AI into university curricula.
