Shaping the Future of Energy at the Tan Sri Leo Moggie 7th Lecture Series 2026

6 August 2026 - Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) hosted the Tan Sri Leo Moggie 7th Lecture Series 2026 on 6 August 2026 at the National Energy Centre (NEC), UNITEN.
Held under the Tan Sri Leo Moggie Distinguished Chair in Energy Informatics, in collaboration with the Institute of Informatics and Computing in Energy (IICE), the lecture series provides a platform for distinguished leaders, industry representatives and the academic community to exchange perspectives on the evolving energy landscape.
This year’s distinguished speaker, YBhg. Academician Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Dr. Ir. Ahmad Tajuddin Ali, Joint Chairman (Industry), Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology (MIGHT), delivered a lecture entitled “A Reflection on Energy, Responsibility & The Future.”
Drawing on decades of leadership and experience, Tan Sri Ahmad Tajuddin reflected on the transformation of the energy sector and the need to balance energy security, affordability and sustainability amid accelerating electrification, digitalisation and AI-driven demand. He also emphasised the importance of integrity, discipline and responsibility as energy systems become increasingly sophisticated and interconnected.
The event was also attended by YBhg. Tan Sri Leo Moggie; Datuk Ir. Khalilur Rahman Ebrahim, representing the UNITEN Board of Governors; Professor Ir. Dr. Khairul Salleh Mohamed Sahari, Vice-Chancellor of UNITEN; En. Azlan Bin Ahmad, Chief Digital & Information Officer (CDIO), Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB); members of UNITEN’s top management; distinguished delegates from TNB; and students from UNITEN and other institutions.
The Tan Sri Leo Moggie Lecture Series continues to strengthen thought leadership, knowledge exchange and meaningful dialogue on the future of energy, while connecting industry experience and expertise with the next generation of leaders.
